DESCRIPTION:The 2020 Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) Implementation Workshop will be 29-30 September in Geneva Switzerland. The Workshop is a technical meeting intended for information sharing among experts. There is no charge to participate.\n \nEveryone interested in emergency alerting is welcome: managers, technical staff, media, etc., including those in government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and commercial organizations.\n \nThe host and co-sponsor of this Workshop is the International Telecommunication Union ( http://www.itu.int/ ) (ITU). Other co-sponsors of the Workshop are: the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) ( http://www.iaem.com/ ), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) ( https://media.ifrc.org/ifrc/ ), the OASIS ( http://www.oasis-open.org/home/index.php ) standards organization, and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) ( https://public.wmo.int/ ).\n \nThe Workshop will be in the ITU Headquarters ( https://www.itu.int/en/ITU-R/conferences/RRB/Pages/Getting-to-ITU.aspx ). A CAP “Train the Trainers” session ( https://preparecenter.org/resources/cap-workshop-2019-training ) will be held in the same venue, on September 28, 2020.\n
