Guide for National Society teams including health coordinators, supervisors, branch officers & volunteers: Rapid training for community response to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak (23/2/20)

This guide is developed for National Society teams to:

• develop basic understanding of the virus

• identify transmission route of the virus and the chain of infection

• develop understanding of key health messages and preventative measures

• define the National Society role in protecting the community

• develop an understanding of:

o home care

o use of masks and gloves

o safe disposal of waste

o contact tracing

o Introduction to psychological first aid (PFA) and Risk Communication and Community Engagement
