Our Hiring Process
GDPC employs a small team of between 15-20 staff, focused on areas of technical expertise, innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building with regard to disaster preparedness. We hire through the American Red Cross WorkDay platform. As positions become available we will link them below.
Throughout the year we also engage individuals and organizations for consultancies in the areas of research, community preparedness, evaluation, and more. These opportunities will also be featured on this page as they become available.

GDPC relies on the expertise, time, and talent of volunteers to help accomplish our mission. We partner with our host organization, American Red Cross, to recruit and place volunteers in roles that build the capacity of our team.
Volunteers make up 90% of the American Red Cross workforce, and for the past few years have been crucial to the work of GDPC. We are currently recruiting for the following volunteer roles (as of May 2021):
- Applied Research Volunteer
- Virtual Event Planner
- Website Support (WordPress & SEO)
- Graphic Designer
- SharePoint Specialist
