Stop Disasters 2.0: Video Games as Tools to Foster Participation in Learning about Disaster

Researcher from the University of Auckland (New Zeland) suggested how disaster themed video games have the ability to be educational tools to foster participation and learning. Such games have an ability to convey messages of disaster risk reduction, including portrayals of hazards, vulnerabilities, capacities and numerous disaster discourses.

The presentation was held on the Ignite Sessions on the 2017 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in Cancun – Mexico.
