Strengthening Anticipatory Action Evidence Workshop

Building MEL capacity across the Red Cross Red Crescent network to generate and use evidence from anticipatory action programs.

The American Red Cross, in partnership with the RCRC Climate Centre, is hosting Strengthening Anticipatory Action Evidence workshop, taking place in Nagarkot, Nepal from 4–7 May 2026. The 4-day workshop is designed for monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) practitioners and and aims to strengthen the evidence base for anticipatory action, particularly within the RCRC Movement.

Workshop Objectives

Strengthen MEL Practice

Anticipatory action creates unique evaluation challenges. We'll unpack timing constraints, pre-designed evaluations, and practical approaches to navigate them.

Evaluations That Work

Build skills to design cost-effectiveness analyses and control group studies, the evidence donors and governments need to invest in AA.

Align on Global Reporting

Review the IFRC 2026 - 2030 global anticipatory action indicators and explore how National Societies can report against them consistently as required.

    Participants should fly into and out of Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu. The Soaltee hotel provides an airport shuttle service; detailed pickup arrangements will be shared with participants closer to the event.

  • Visa Information
