Mandy George in an independent consultant specializing in humanitarian innovation, including in the fields of community engagement and accountability, environmental sustainability and climate change adaptation. Mandy has been working with the Red Cross Movement for over 13 years, in a range of emergency preparedness, response and recovery operations and National Societies. She also has experience working with UNOCHA, UNEP and other humanitarian and environmental organisations. Her professional experience has included research into immersive technologies for disaster preparedness, the use of mobile technology and social media for community engagement and the use of mobile technology and creative solutions to simplify the process of environmental assessments in humanitarian action. Mandy has also worked with various parts of the Red Cross Movement to develop and implement minimum standards for quality and accountability of humanitarian operations, most recently both in Myanmar and globally. She has an MA in Environment and Development from Kings College in London.
