Dr Cassan is emergency physician in Paris. He is a member of the Emergency Medicine Society and also Society of Disaster Medicine in France. At the international level, he is member of the Basic Life Support working group in the European Resuscitation Council. He is a working member in the development of the AHA and ILCOR International Resuscitation and First aid Guidelines in 2005, 2010 and 2015. Dr Cassan is the team-leader developing the evidence based International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Resuscitation and First Aid Guidelines 2016. As a volunteer, Dr Pascal Cassan is member of the French Red Cross since 1977. He is the National Medical Advisor of the French Red Cross since 1990. He is currently heading the IFRC Global First Aid Reference Centre.
