Lauren is currently a Technical Advisor at the Global Disaster Preparedness Center managing the Universal App Program. She has joined the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement in 2005 as a Disaster Action Team (DAT) volunteer and has deployed to assist with emergency operations following the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and Super Storm Sandy in the USA and deployed to support with IFRC earthquake response in Nepal. She completed a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs at GSPIA funded by the US Department of Education’s Foreign Language and Areas Studies (FLAS) fellowship and served as a Rotary International Ambassadorial scholar in Cairo, Egypt. Lauren is a certified EMT in the state of Maryland and is an active volunteer with Montgomery County Fire & Rescue.
