Esther Monchari, is from Nairobi, Kenya. Esther has more than four years of experience in the nonprofit sector. She has a bachelor’s in business information technology from Mount Kenya University She is a tech enthusiast,an entrepreneur, and keynote speaker. Most of her work revolves around technology. She is one of the founders of sokonect, a platform that links small scale farmers to buyers at the comfort of their farms using mobile technology. Through sokonect she drives partnerships for tackling social problems through connectivity and appropriate technology. She believes that technology can solve most of the problems faced by the society today. She is a software developer, she mostly does web applications With Ruby on Rails, and she likes to contribute to open-source projects like Mozilla, Speakerinnen, Public-whip for Open Australia foundation. Estheratc serves as a board member at Girls in Tech Kenyan Chapter, a non-profit organization that seeks to increase women visibility in the technology space through workshops, training and conferences. Esther has volunteered for technovation for a period of three years as a coach, a mentor, and a judge. Her role as a coach is training high school girls on programming skills and entrepreneurship. Esther has participated in leadership training including the USAID-funded Young African Leadership Initiative in 2016 to improve her leadership and management skills. She believes good leaders are made. Her mission and vision is to innovate,create things, fix problems and help the society. She is fascinated by technology ecosystems globally and works to support entrepreneurs like herself to scale their work and impact the society. Through these experiences, she has developed strong leadership skills, project planning and management, event planning, coordination, and implementation. She focuses on information and technology, education and social inclusion. Her passion is on empowering women,youth and the marginalized communities through technology.
