Booklet: Guidelines for incorporating earthquake safety measures in repair and maintenance of buildings with historical/archaeologically importance

This booklet provides guidelines for incorporating earthquake safety measures in repair and maintenance of buildings with historical and archaeological importance. It also offers repair and maintenance tips to help conservationists and cultural communities prepare the sites for earthquakes and other natural hazards. On April 25, 2015, an earthquake with a magnitude of over 7.8M killed more than 9,000 people, injured more than 23,000 and damaged or destroyed more than 550 historical and cultural monuments in Kathmandu Valley and affected rural districts. In light of this disaster, and with future earthquake risks, this booklet may be used to increase preparedness of conservationists and cultural communities and the sites they protect. The booklet is in Nepali.
