The IFRC and Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran have initiated a Partnership on Urban Disaster Risk Reduction. Initial activies under the partnership include pilot studies in five cities: Nairobi, Kenya; Tegucigalpa, Honduras; Jakarta, Indonesia; Yerevan, Armenia; and Tehran, Iran.

As one of the outcomes of this partnership a guide to urban resilience that explains the root causes of urban risks and their humanitarian consequences are developed.
