Jackie’s story surviving the devastating Alabama electrical Fire – Birmingham, Alabama 2019

Jackie Sturdivant survived the May 18, 2019 Alabama fire. The Smoke Alarms installed by Red Cross Volunteers three days before the electrical fire managed to save Jackie, her three children and their pet dog. Jackie’s son had recently learned about fire safety as well at school through the Pillowcase Project, a Red Cross youth preparedness program.
