Youth-Led Advocacy for Disaster Risk Reduction

This guide is a practical training resource aimed at Y Care International project staff and partners to aid youth-led advocacy activities for disaster risk reduction (DRR). The guide is divided into the seven steps of the advocacy cycle, and is designed to be read either as a whole or by individual step, depending on need. The steps include (i) Identify the issues (ii) Collect the evidence (iii) Establish your objectives (iv) Identify targets (v) Choose an influencing strategy (vi) Create an Advocacy Action Plan and (vii) Monitor and Evaluate. Within each step of the guide there are useful tools, exercises, resources and case studies to enable users to gain ideas and build their own Advocacy Action Plan by the end of the guide.
