Impact report: Collective action for extreme heat resilience

This report captures the outcomes and impact of the Urban Climate Resilience Program (UCRP) in Australia between 2023 and 2026. It demonstrates how a systemic approach—combining community-led action, innovation, partnerships, and evidence-informed decision-making—strengthened resilience to extreme heat in Western Sydney, Australia. Through stories, data, and key achievements, the report highlights the program’s impact, demonstrates accountability to partners and donors, and provides a foundation for future climate resilience programming.

UCRP is a global partnership operating in cities across ten countries to strengthen resilience to climate-related disasters through locally led action, strategic partnerships, and evidence-based approaches. In Australia, UCRP is led by Australian Red Cross in partnership with Zurich Australia and the IFRC.
