This is IFRC guidance on the use of face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. These recommendations are based on the WHO guidelines on epidemic and pandemic-prone acute respiratory infections in health care, updated systematic review of randomized controlled trials, and evaluation of current evidence by WHO adhoc COVID-19 IPC Guidance Development Group.

This document, published by the UNFPA, is an update of an interim guidance originally published under the title ‘COVID-19 Technical Brief Package for Maternity Services Update 1: May 2020.’
