China and Cambodia: Integrated programming and cooperation with local authorities boost communities’ disaster preparedness

Both China and Cambodia are prey to natural disasters affecting the lives and livelihoods of millions of people. To help vulnerable communities prepare for and withstand such disasters, the National Societies are implementing community-based disaster preparedness (CBDP) programmes that have embraced integrated programming and cooperation with local authorities, both of which have contributed to the appropriateness, efficiency and sustainability of these programmes. Published in 2008.
