Community-Based Housing Finance Initiatives

This report highlights the the Community Mortgage Programme in Philippines, and innovative community-based housing finance initiative that was was launched in 1988 and has evolved into a flagship programme of the Philippines government in low income housing.

The Community Mortgage Programme is a financing scheme that helps informal settlers gain land and housing tenure and enables community redevelopment to enhance local services and access through a community association and/or land pooling mechanism.
