Desastres en América: Argumentos para la preparación jurídica

Marcos jurídicos sólidos son fundamentales para reducir la exposición a riesgos, orientar la preparación y respuesta a desastres. Sin embargo, a menudo se pasa por alto la planificación de la preparación para atenderlos. 

 

El presente informe aborda tres áreas clave, donde la adecuada legislación puede marcar una diferencia y donde Sociedades Nacionales de la Cruz Roja trabajan de manera conjunta con los Gobiernos para desarrollar e implementar leyes eficaces en materia de desastres, mediante el estudio de casos en República Dominicana, Colombia y Chile. Así mismo, se presentan unas breves reflexiones sobre los efectos del terremoto de 2010 en Haití en las tres áreas desarrolladas por este informe.
