Flash Flood Early Warnings: What can we do?

Flash Floods and Debris Flow are a major hazard in Europe and worldwide and Early Warning Systems are the best way to increase preparedness and suport efficient operational risk management. The video presents the advanced tools developed under the EU FP7 IMPRINTS project to support operational risk management and the implementation of the EU Flood Directive. These tools are the result of scientific research on rainfall forecasting, on hydrometeorological forecasting and on flood early warnings systems undertaken by a consortium of 18 institutions incorporating universities, research institutes, operational risk management agencies and private entreprises of the field.
