تقريرعن الكوارث في العالم – ملخص التكنولوجيا ومستقبل العمل الإنساني 2013

أفادت التقارير بأن عدد من لقوا حتفهم أو تضرروا من جراء الكوارث في عام 2012 بلغ أدنى مستوياته بالمقارنة مع أي من السنوات الأخرى خلال العقد المنصرم˛ و هذا ما تثبته الأرقام الواردة في هذا التقرير. وإذا كانت هذه الأرقام تزف إلينا خبراً إيجابياً˛ فإنها تبيٌن أيضاً عدم وقوع كوارث كبرى مثل “تسونامي” المحيط الهندي عام 2004 و إعصار “نرجس” عام 2008 و الزلزال الذي ضرب هايتي في عام 2010.

لقد إستخلصنا العِبر من هذه الكوارث الكبرى  ويتعين علينا في الوقت ذاته أن نواصل تحسين عملنا وتجديده لزيادة فاعلية ومسؤولية عمليات التأهب لمواجهة الكوارث والتخفيف من آثارها والإستجابة لها والإنتعاش في أعقابها. و يضع هذا التقرير عن الكوارث في العالم 2013 هذه الأهداف نصب عينيه٬ مُركزا على الإنتشار السريع للتكنولوحيا لاسيما تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات٬ مما أحدث تغييراً في العمل الإنساني وفي العالمين في الحقل الإنساني.
