CAP (Common Alerting Protocol)

Online resources relevant to the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP), as selected by the author (Eliot Christian).

An international standard (ITU Recommendation X.1303), CAP defines a kind of “standard form”, with fill-in boxes and check boxes giving essential details of the emergency alert. Use of CAP in any kind of emergency helps people save lives and protect livelihoods. This is why CAP is an essential part of emergency alerting in societies worldwide. It is also required by law or policy in many countries.
