El Salvador, Honduras and Colombia prepared for effective response

October, 8 – 11, 2018

Jose Bonilla, Institutional Preparedness Advisor, and Roberto Brito, Director for Latin America and the Caribbean for the American Red Cross briefed the National Red Cross Societies of El Salvador, Honduras, and Colombia, on the Preparedness for Effective Response (PER) tool for assessing institutional capacities. This tool was developed by the International Federation of Red Cross Red Crescent (IFRC), based on lessons learned and good practices from the implementation of tools such as the DRCE and Well Prepared National Society (WPNS). One of the great advantages of PER is that allows National Societies to identify and prioritize the items to be evaluated, and helps them develop an action plan to address possible areas for improvement encountered during the evaluation.
